TEACHERS | MAKING | A DIFFERENCE

LIMERICK - After touring the Irish capital, Dublin, the Teachers Making a Difference team's next stop was Limerick City.

Limerick is about 200km away on the western coast of the island.

While there, star teachers were taken through back-to-back basics that included creative teaching methods by their Irish counterparts.

In an engagement at the Department of Foreign Affairs Global Education Centre on Friday, the visiting teachers participated in practical demonstrations on how to instil creativity in their learners as well as break complex and abstract subjects like sustainable development goals to a level easily understood by students.

COVID-19 effects on the girl child

Stars teachers were also part of a panel that discussed the effects of COVID-19 on the girl-child and whether the current policies have disadvantaged the boy-child.

In a keynote address on the topic, Dr. Jane Egau Okou, the director higher, technical, vocational education and training said the pandemic led to the closure of the over 73,000 learning institutions in the country for two years.
