EARTHQUAKE | UGANDA | RESCUED
A Ugandan has been rescued from debris following Monday's devastating earthquake that left over 15,000 people dead in both Turkey and Syria.
Ashraf Karara was rescued from the debris in Malatya state city in Turkey after he went missing on Monday.
Details about Karara's remained scanty by press time, but New Vision has learnt that he was a student studying graphics design at Malatya University.
His friends shared his photo that the rescue team used to search for him after his phones went unanswered on Monday.

A friend, who spoke to New Vision said he was nursing injuries in a yet-to-be-identified hospital.
President Museveni's condolences
On Tuesday, President Yoweri Museveni sent a condolence message to the people of Turkey and Syria following after several people were killed and property destroyed following the earthquake.
"I am deeply saddened by the deaths, injuries and loss of property in Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. My thoughts and prayers, and those of all Ugandans, are with the families who have lost their loved ones. May their souls rest in Peace," Museveni said.
